The layoffs and downsizing continues in New York, with the financial services sector hardest hit. It’s difficult to talk about employer branding, recruitment, and retention when most HR teams are working with the senior management team to cut costs. I’ve spoken with many of my long standing clients, and the message is the same. This is survival mode. When, or if, they and their companies survive this fast and deep downturn, then maybe we’ll look again at growth and recruitment. But not until then.
